2/ Festival International de Jazz de Montréal

When? End of June - Beginning of July
For Jazz lovers, the Montreal International Jazz Festival is simply THE place to be avery summer. This festival is considered to be the most important jazz festival in the world : more than 2 millions people are usually welcomed and more than 1,000 events take place - mostly outside and free - in the Quartier des Spectacles. The greatest legends performed there, from Miles Davis to Aretha Franklin ! A must !

3/ Montreal Just for Laughs Festival

When? Mid-July
That is sure you’ve already seen the green mascot with red horns ! Just for Laughs festival has been created in 1983 by Gilbert Rozon and it’s now one of the greatest outdoor festival in Montreal. It presents exceptional comedy shows, street performances and parades : it’s a wonderful - and funny - way to celebrate culture, in french... and english!

This gay-friendly festival is certainly one of the most unique festival in Montreal. It promotes diversity in every way. For a week, thousands of people from all backgrounds and of all ages, meet at great outdoor and free events! Two of these events have a reputation that goes far beyond the borders of Quebec:


  • La Grande Danse. 10 hours of house music and a gigantic party where perform some of the best DJ’s of the moment.
  • Mascara, la nuit des Drags. One of the biggest Drag show in the world, presented by the famous Mado.

This fabulous festival, which is undoubtedly one of our favorite, attracts millions of curious every year! During seven weeks, the best pyrotechnics firms in the world are «fighting» with creativity, lights and music to win the «Jupiter d’Or». Even if the best sport to enjoy the show is in the amusement park «La Ronde», the fireworks are visible from many other perspectives in Montreal. A wonderful festival that you really don’t want to miss!
